Melbourne based graphic designer / illustrator, Neeko (AKA Nick Phillips) is a good example of what's known in Australia as “a funny bastard”. The second you see his work, you know this is the kind of guy who appreciates a good bit of drawing Hitler moustaches on fashion magazines. The fact is Phillips’ talent runs much deeper than that. This kid is good. Really good.

Rolled Edge was lucky enough to get 5 minutes of his time, here’s what he had to say....

1. What do you do?
I'm trying to establish the title of "Graphics Tycoon", but to a lay person, it just means Illustrator, Graphic & Web Designer.

2. And why should I care about that?
Because I'm a tycoon... they take over stuff don't they?  I could be your boss one day, so be nice to me.

3. When did you start?
About 6 years ago.

4. How is this going to change the world?
In terms of changing the world for the longevity of nature and the wellbeing of mankind, I don't think that graphic design rates that highly.  We all like to think it does, but in a post apocolyptic world while a trained Doctor is healing the children, a qualified Builder is constructing a shelter, and Jamie Oliver is scratching through the rubbish for frozen & long life produce, I'm pretty sure I'd be the annoying guy that is walking around kicking stones asking if anyone has seen my Sharpies or the power cord for my computer.

9.30-Midday: Upholding my position as Chief Entertainer of Orphaned Puppies
MIDDAY-1.30 - LUNCH
1.30-2.00 - Boss walks in, "Phillips, these bottles won't smash themselves you know, now here's a BB Gun, a cricket bat and pile of smooth stones - get to work!"
2.00-3.00 - Recreation time
3.00-5.00 - Music Reviews, where i get to lecture an audience on why albums such as Donuts, Houses of the Holy, Angel Dust & Wish You Were Here are some of the best albums ever released AND how Guns 'n' Roses are in fact totally shithouse, despite popular belief.

7. Who do you love?
Family, friends, pets and Dr Dre.

8. I refuse to eat...
Hardly anything.  I once made a chocolate and avocado milkshake that was a bit much though. 

9. Monaco Bar or Gaytime?
Strip me bare and cover me in biscuit pieces, I'll have a Gaytime any day thanks.

10. Where are you going when you’ve answered these questions?
To cruise the south island of New Zealand in a hire car with my girly.  Well, in a few days that is.  I figure that's more exciting than "to the toilet".
